The Beginning

Little Andrew started in Bloomfield, New Mexico.
Our family had just moved in August because Dan had just gotten a new job. We were very excited to be employed again and have health insurance too. We got pregnant in Sept. He must have been anxious to come.
I had a bit of morning sickness, but over-all it wasn't too bad.
We took numerous trips.
In Oct/Nov we flew to ND to see Nana and Papa. In Nov we drove to Utah for Thanksgiving. In Dec we drove to Utah again for Christmas and New Years. In March we went to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah for Spring Break. In May we again drove to Utah for Kylee's baptism and Mother's Day.
Toward the end of the pregnancy it was hard for me to walk. Little Andrew was pushing down pretty low.
On the 10th of June I had my last doc appt. I had been dilated to a 2.5 for the last three weeks. Nothing else was happening, so we scheduled an induction at the hospital for 6 am the next morning. Suddenly it seemed so soon. I went to multiple stores that afternoon to get all my errands done.
At five thirty the next morning we dropped Emmee, Cassee, and Adam off at our friends, the Kropfs. Then Dan and I headed to the hospital.
Things moved slowly at first. I got started on Pitocin around 7:45. Dr. Karabin came in around noon and checked me. I was still only a 3. I got an epidural around 3:30 and was a 4. 45 minutes and another epidural later I was a 10. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the doctor before I could start pushing. About 15 minutes later little Andrew was born.
He was perfect all over. He weighed about 7 pounds and 4 ounces. He was very long at 22 inches. He had long slender feet and long fingers. He also had a little pudgey nose like Dan had as a baby. He would fit right in because he looked a lot like Adam and Emmee had.
We decided his full name would be Andrew Perkins Jones.
The Andrew comes from my deceased brother, Andrew John Riskedahl.
The Perkins comes from Dan's dad, Lindsay Perkins Jones. It happens to be Lindsay's mother's maiden name.
Hopefully he will live up to his name and honor those whose names he bears.

Baby Andrew

Our latest and greatest has joined the family.
Since all the other kids have a blog of their very own, I figured Andrew should have one too.
Hopefully he'll enjoy looking at his as much as the others enjoy theirs.
It might be tough being the fourth kid in the family!
